Give the Gift of ICU
This year, our ICU has provided care for numerous patients for whom this specialized care would not have been available just one year ago.
This summer, a young man from Palomas, Mexico, was hospitalized in our ICU for several months. Eduardo 'Lalo' Palacios had fallen critically ill and had been taken to The Hospitals of Providence Transmountain Campus in El Paso where he could receive specialized care. The Hospitals of Providence and FEMAP later arranged to bring Lalo to Hospital de la Familia so that his family in Mexico could be with him. With our newly opened ICU, Hospital de la Familia was able to provide the specialized care Lalo needed; however, care this extensive costs $750 per day. Lalo's family could not afford it. With a long tradition of serving the poor, FEMAP stopped at nothing to try to save Lalo's life. See Lalo's full story here:
This story is one of many examples of the remarkable lengths to which FEMAP goes to help people. Hospital de la Familia's ICU addresses a critical gap in services in Cd. Juarez, but at $750 per day, we need your help to continue to provide these important services.
Please consider a donation to FEMAP this holiday season, and help us continue to provide ICU care for patients like Lalo.
