Concierto 321 a Success!!

It was a lovely evening with a gentle breeze. Guests could see the building in downtown El Paso and had a different view of the star on the mountain. Frontera Bugalu soon took the stage and had the guests dancing to cumbias. Surrounded by friends and new fans, Jim Ward took the stage and gave concert-goers an amazing performance.

Jim Ward and Progress321, held the first fundraiser concert on the roof of the newly built FEMAP School of Nursing in Cd. Juarez, Mexico.  The evening started with a Mercado featuring artisanal items from micro-entrepreneurs, the Pink Store and the art from Los Dos. Guests also enjoyed food from Chef Oscar Herrera of Flor de Nogal and an open bar. More than 140 people attended the event..

The concert was opened by a nursing student who is on a scholarship at the FEMAP School of Nursing.

All ticket holders received a limited edition, numbered Silk Screen Print by Los Dos. Close to $40,000 was raised that evening. The concert benefitted FEMAP’s Microfinance program and scholarships for students studying at FEMAP’s School of Nursing.

FEMAP’s Microfinance Program was established in 1987 with the goal of helping those living in poverty (especially women) to improve family income, aiding to financial self-sustainability, and in turn, improve their quality of life.

FEMAP’s School of Nursing was established in 1990 to provide opportunities for the poorest people to study and become healthcare professionals. The majority of those seeking a nursing education at FEMAP seek scholarships for the modest tuition, currently $43.00 per month.
