About FEMAP and the FEMAP Foundation
FEMAP (a Spanish acronym which stands for Mexican Federation of Health and Community Development) is a not-for-profit organization created in 1973 with the mission to improve the quality of life of a population living under conditions of poverty. Today, many U.S. residents benefit from FEMAP’s provision of low-cost, high quality medical care and its accredited school of nursing.

FEMAP’s most notable projects include: Hospital de la Familia, Hospital Santa Maria, Clinica de la Familia and the FEMAP School of Nursing. The non-profit also implements programs such as after school care and art classes for youth between the ages of 6 to 18 years, a Micro-Finance Program which provides loans and training to micro-entrepreneurs and the Promotoras de Salud Comunitaria Program (Volunteer Health Promoter), which has been in place since 1972. The Volunteer Health Promoters ensure that families in their neighborhoods have access to medical care and other services.

The FEMAP Foundation is a501(c)(3) U.S. based public charity established to provide support for a variety of programs serving our bi-national Region.
