Tuesday, December 10th, 2013 -- Adair Margo, founding President of the FEMAP Foundation which supports health and micro-enterprise development along the U.S./Mexican border was awarded with the 2013 Woman of the Year Award from the Boy Scouts of America Yucca Council on November 22, 2013. Mrs. Margo is also a founding Board member of the Paso del Norte Health Foundation, the largest health foundation on the U.S./Mexico Border.
Other volunteer efforts include the Advisory Committee for the Immigration History Museum, the UTEP Business Advisory Council and The El Paso Museum of Art Foundation. State involvement includes the Advisory Committee for the Texas Book Festival and the Texas Philosophical Society.
Mrs. Margo has also received awards for introducing contemporary art to El Paso and is a member of the El Paso Women’s Hall of Fame. She and her husband, Dee, received the Bravo Award from the League of Women Voters in 2001 for their contributions to El Paso. She recently received La Gran Paseña Award from the University of Texas at El Paso.
