Every year, the programs ValorArte para Niños y Niñas (started with seed money from Paso Del Norte Health Foundation) and ADN Ampliando el Desarrollo de los Niños transform the lives of hundreds of Cd. Juarez children and their communities through dance, art classes, and public performances.
The success of the programs created a high demand and FEMAP responded by implementing summer camps providing a variety of activities such as dance, singing and music lessons, cooking classes and workshops on fine arts.
The camp took place from July 13 to August 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
In addition, FEMAP created PROVE (Programas de Verano/Summer Programs) in order to engage children and youth who are not enrolled in school. PROVE offered urban art workshops.
More than 200 children registered for the summer camps and close to 100 kids were new to the FEMAP’ programs.
A public performance was held the last day of the camp featuring the new talents the children acquired.
The programs work with children to ensure they develop personal standards of excellence, discipline, understanding of others, a pride of achievement, and a curiosity about the world that supports their success in school and in life.
10,000 children and adolescents participate in FEMAP’s programs every year.
