En Sexualidad tu Tienes la Palabra
(When it Comes to Sex, You Have a Say)
The Two Should Know Initiative is part of Paso del Norte Health Foundation’s Goal 4: Healthy Family and Social Environment. For ten years, FEMAP/SADEC’s first sexuality program, Jovenes, Cultura y Sexualidad (Youth, Culture and Sexuality) provided comprehensive sexuality education for youth 12 to 18 years of age in primary and secondary schools in Ciudad Juarez to assist in the prevention of unintended pregnancies, sexually transmitted diseases and relationship violence.
En Sexualidad tu Tienes la Palabra III prepares youth students between the ages of 13 – 17 to become peer educators and conduct presentations on healthy sexuality to students in area schools. Currently the program is training 83 new peer educators additionally to the 122 students that are already fully qualified to impart the presentations and distribute information. The outreach of the program has extended to 4,297 teens from six different schools who have received the information through the peer presentations, while 2,281 students have received the information through the 45 marionette program special performances.
In 2014, the Paso Del Norte Health Foundation awarded $242,571.00 to TSK: En Sexualidad tu Tienes la Palabra III
